00:27, Neuzd> Has anyone ever found water (ice) on thin atmosphere worlds?
00:28, Neuzd> I found a comment inside the Noctis source that says that it's possible because of permafrost. But, apart the lack of evidence, there's the lack of code.
00:29, Neuzd> Either Alex forgot to implement it (I swear, the code for icy texture is NOT there), or he decided to throw away the idea and left the comment for someone to wonder some EPOC later...
00:30, Neuzd> Anyone recalls if this subject was ever presented to Alex? Or does simply someone know something about it?
00:32, Serpens> I'm pretty sure I DON"T remember anyone bringing this thread up.
00:33, Serpens> If I were to search for water (ice) on thin atmosphere worlds, I'd try landing on one of the poles... But they seem to be treated as some kind of craters.
00:35, Serpens whispers: Err... this *topic* up, I mean
00:39, Neuzd> Wha...?
00:39, Neuzd> I'm sorry, the green confused me.
00:40, E_net4> Team Fortress 2 is now on the mic.
00:41, E_net4> And they're giving away some in-game ear buds for those who log into the game with a Mac.
00:41, E_net4> Note: I meant Mac, not Mic.
00:41, Serpens> Yes, all this green must be confusing. :P I just don't remember anyone talking about this. Should I clarify what I said about the poles?
00:41, Neuzd> No, no it's ok, I just didn't notice your 2 messages before the whisper.
00:41, Cryoburner> Microphone check!
00:42, Serpens> Oh, I see. Well, let's blame Cryoburner, he's green too!
00:43, Cryoburner whispers: Can't you already recognize who's playing on a Mac by their complete ineptetude?
00:44, E_net4> XD
00:44, Cryoburner whispers: That's ineptEtude with a captial E.
00:44, Neuzd> In fact I'm expecting that no one found it, that's what I understand from the source code, but I could be wrong.
00:45, Neuzd> And by the way, that is not fair, I'm a mac user but I suck at FPS also when I play on PC or the 360.
00:49, Serpens> Same here... But now I wonder about the small, icy worlds.
00:49, Cryoburner> Neuzd.org said: "Xbox 360: Halo 3, Left 4 Dead, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Forza Motorsport 3"
00:50, Cryoburner whispers: So you suck on at least three of the four games you own for the console? :P
00:51, Neuzd> Pretty much precisely.
00:51, Cryoburner whispers: That's okay. All console FPS players suck. It's built into the unwieldy controllers.
00:56, E_net4> Neuz: Get a Steam account, get TF2, log in to it to get the ear buds.
00:56, Raptorjedi is okay at Gears of War on the Xbox.
00:56, E_net4> Then buy the game and wait until the game has a trading system.
00:57, E_net4> Then give me the ear buds. :P
00:57, Serpens doesn't understand anything since his only consoles are the NES and a hand-held Tetris.
00:57, Cryoburner whispers: Isn't Gears of War played from a third-person perspective? That would make it not an FPS. :P
00:58, Raptorjedi> FPS, TPS, same damn thing really.
00:58, Raptorjedi> It's a game where you shoot people.
00:58, E_net4> Also, I like the engineer's new shotgun. I wonder what it does.
00:59, Neuzd> Oh is it really the same, Rapforjedi? :P
00:59, Neuzd whispers: spoiler alert: it shoots.
01:03, Neuzd> By the way, I translated that comment about water on thin-atmos.
01:04, Neuzd> "Also the possibility of pools is previewed d' water given from the presence of the permafrost, but is frosted and us it can be travelled over..."
01:04, Neuzd> Oops, sorry :P "It's also expected the possibility of water ponds caused by the presence of permafrost, but they're frozen and you can walk on them..."
01:07, Cryoburner> Does there need to be a texture routine? Is the frozen water on Felysian worlds textured?
01:10, Cryoburner whispers: Maybe it just sort of jumps to those routines at some point. :P
01:10, Neuzd> There are 2 kind of icy textures: snowy and frosty. But they're simply triggered by the ICY condition of the sector. I don't know about frozen water because of temperatures.
01:13, Neuzd> Just by observation, I'd say that frozen water is the same as water (and no extra textures) but without ripples and you can walk on it.
01:19, Cryoburner whispers: While you're in there, re-enable the sound code from Noctis 2. :)
01:19, Neuzd> Alright found the code. The texture on the water is basically just a reflection. Frozen and liquid water have different sparkling.
01:46, Cryoburner> This planet's sky is pretty nice. :) http://anynowhere.com/bb/cdimage.php?name=cd/pngs/H9cjdykiixWeA3Ehn0Li9xWe .png
12:15, E_net4> My linked list library is almost done.
12:26, E_net4> Oddly enough, the first node works strangely, while the rest of them are fine.
12:26, E_net4> I set the value of the first node. When I try to show all of the nodes' values, 32 is not there.
12:27, E_net4> Oh fail, I saw the problem. n say'd before I changed the parameter.
12:28, E_net4> It was actually showing the pointer to the next node.
12:28, E_net4> O wait, now it's 0? Ugh, I'll try again later.
13:55, Albeyamakiir> That was weird. The only Uni subject I had an exam for was a subject I wasn't actually enrolled in.
13:55, Albeyamakiir> All the negatives of exam nerves and I never even find out if I passed, because it's not supposed to matter.
15:34, E_net4> :o
15:42, E_net4> Now... the list.
16:16, Neuzd> Who! At the Colbert Report they made a graphics with the Great Britain flag instead of England.
16:23, Neuzd> I know it's a just a stupid little detail, but we Europeans find that ignorance is one of America's biggest flaws, and this is not an encouraging sign, from someone I look forward to help make Americans grow.
17:14, Serpens whispers: I'd be annoyed, too, but I'm too used to seeing the Polish flag upside-down. Spain did this last time, so it's not exclusively an American problem.
17:20, Neuzd> One third of the Italian flags I see around here are reversed. I was mostly surprised that a program like The Colbert Report made such an error.
17:31, Serpens> Well, my theory is, just about everywhere on the world, 99% people only pretend to be professional. Sometimes they're good at this, sometimes they can't avoid mistakes.
17:35, Serpens whispers: You know, on a political note, the second most important person in the Polish government, who has a good chance to win the presidential election, didn't know Norway isn't in the EU.
17:36, Serpens whispers: He also couldn't tell what was his candidate for the head of National Bank doing before the nomination.
18:15, Cryoburner whispers: Maybe they did it on purpose just to annoy those Europeans who get annoyed too easily. :P
18:20, Neuzd whispers: I'm not annoyed, I'm surprised that a program I consider of very high standards made a mistake like this.
18:23, Neuzd whispers: If you wanted to nail me you could have said that I wrote Great Britain instead of United Kingdom.
18:30, Cryoburner whispers: But was he wearing the flag properly? http://www.nofactzone.net/2007/07/04/youre-a-grand-old-flag/
18:40, Skinnymon whispers: Considering it was Colbert, I wouldn't doubt it was done "accidentally on purpose". Though most Americans wouldn't notice is...
18:40, Skinnymon whispers: ...it was a U.S. flag with 48 stars rather than 50. :/
18:41, Skinnymon whispers: Let's face it, Americans don't know a Union Jack unless it is worn on a T-shirt.
18:43, Skinnymon meant: "if..." not "is..."
18:50, Cryoburner whispers: Unless it "if" worn? :|
19:01, Skinnymon whispers: The quote being corrected was "if...it was a U.S. flag with 48 stars rather than 50."
19:02, Skinnymon whispers: Which brings me to a thought. How many movies/TV shows about World War II (or the Korean War even) can one find with a U.S. flag with 50 stars?
19:04, Skinnymon whispers: Since Alaska and Hawaii did not become states until 1959, I bet some less costly productions ignore that fact.
19:37, Cryoburner whispers: The real question is how many revolutionary war films might do that. :P
19:48, Neuzd whispers: I don't agree, revolutionary would mean it was never done before...
19:48, Neuzd runs...
