00:17, Cryoburner whispers: Limited weapons don't really make a game consolized. Just a bit more 'realistic'. :P
00:18, Speeder> really, duke nukem realistic?
00:18, Speeder> >.<
00:18, Cryoburner whispers: Regenerating health is kind of lame though. Of course, health kits don't really make much more sense from a realism standpoint either. :P
00:19, Speeder> to me they consolized the thing (it has only ONE button for switching weapon, so if they put 4 weapons you already have to press it 3 times to change weapon)
00:19, Cryoburner whispers: That's why I put 'realistic' in quotes. :P
00:20, Cryoburner whispers: Except you can't carry four weapons, so that shouldn't be a problem. :P
00:29, Cryoburner> Perhaps they should make it like Red Orchestra. I tried that last night, and it's not consolized at all. :D
00:33, Cryoburner> It's sort of like Battlefield, only more realistic. It only takes one or two bullets to kill you, there's no healing, and location-specific damage that can slow you down or otherwise affect your performance.
00:35, Cryoburner> Plus, there's not even an aiming reticle, and you have to look through the ironsights for any remote degree of accuracy.
00:42, Speeder> ...
00:44, Speeder> I mean, Duke was about ignore someone throwing grenades at you, run inside a room, shoot the miniaturization way, pull the freezing way, freeze anamies away while you step on the mini ones, then pull the devastator and make the frozen ones shatter, and finally cornering the last weakling that you actually spared, and shoot his eyes out with a shotgun.
00:44, Speeder> Then you run over that medikit, and your missing arm and leg after that grenade, show up again magically, so you can use weapons two handed
00:54, Cryoburner whispers: So... you're saying you want it consolized? :P
00:58, Speeder> no
00:58, Speeder> I want it like it was on PC
00:59, Speeder> other "consolization" case is Rage. It does not fit in a single DVD, so id software chopped the game in two. But then you had to do DVD swapping in XBOX, so they made that you cannot get back to the content seen on the first DVD when you reach the second. ever. PS3 people are utterly mad at that (and PC people too)
01:00, Cryoburner whispers: Then it's already released! Awesome! :D
01:00, Speeder> it is not released :P
01:00, Speeder> they explained that themselves (to explain that we saw few of the game, stating that all content viewed on screenshots and videos are from teh first DVD)
01:00, Cryoburner whispers: Duke Nekem is released! On the PC! Exactly as it was. :P
01:01, Speeder> what?
01:01, Cryoburner whispers: It came out over a decade ago. :P
01:02, Cryoburner> Rage does not really interest me.
01:03, Cryoburner> It looks like some generic Fallout 3 / Borderlands clone.
01:04, Speeder> they said what I just told you, exactly because someone told this to them XD To say that DVD 2 is not a fallout 3/ borderlands
01:05, Cryoburner> They probably planned to split it into two segments anyway then.
01:07, Cryoburner> The graphics engine looks pretty nice, but ID hasn't really been known for making great games for quite a while.
01:07, Speeder> the problem is not the splitting, it is that you cannot return, for a techinical reason...
01:07, Speeder> or at least, it is perceived as that.
01:09, Cryoburner> I'm guessing not being able to return (to wherever that is) will probably fit into the story in some way.
01:11, Cryoburner whispers: Perhaps I should put 'story' in quotes though too, since ID has never been really known for their story-telling abilities. :P
01:12, Cryoburner whispers: Maybe they'll explain it by having the blue key get stolen. :P
03:13, Speeder> XD
03:13, Speeder> Sorry, but you lost that red keycard, you cannot go back. But be happy, if you find the green keycard you can advance in this direction!
10:51, Neuzd whispers: There are easier way, like having the first half played on a planet that then explodes.
12:59, Serpens whispers: It it's Earth that explodes, I'd buy the game.
14:56, Speeder> Heh, I was going to advertise my game in a forum, and when I joined the forum there was a HUUUUUGE post flaming DNF for getting "consolized" XD
14:57, E_net4> Bonk.
15:14, Speeder> linoleum allow you to make a library? So I can call it from C++?
15:39, E_net4> I don't think you can make that kind of libraries with Linoleum.
20:01, Kristos> Nope.
23:34, E_net4> But!
23:34, E_net4> You can put labels in the variables and workspace period for address identifiers as well. :P
